RUN ROCK READ

10/30/19 Summit Trail Middle

On Friday at STMS’s annual Run Rock Read fundraiser, thanks to our thoughtful ASB coordinator, Green Team had it’s very own activity room where students from throughout STMS had an opportunity to stop by and make a poster, win a prize, and watch Planet Earth videos! Thank you ASB!

Record Numbers

Green Team is growing at Tahoma High School! We are breaking numbers with attendance in the teens for 2 weeks in a row. Stay tuned for pictures of rock painting next week.

New school year full of great activities and passion

09/27/19 Lake Wilderness Elementary

The first zero hour Green Team will be on October 3rd at 3:15 - 4:15. We are offering three sessions this year. Green team will teach, encourage, and model way to reduce reuse and recycle at school. Some of the projects will include school yard beautification and litter patrols, recycled art projects, power patrol, and don’t idle campaign to name a few. Come join the fun!

Water Conservation

Happy Earth Day from the Green Team! Today, wear GREEN to celebrate nature. We will also have a rock painting activity at lunch, because the Earth ROCKS! Tomorrow is “hats off to Mother Earth” and class colors day.

Food Drive

Did you know that we waste over 100 BILLION pounds of food every year in America? Don’t let all of that food in your cupboard sit there and do nothing! THS is hosting a food drive in 5th period classes. Bonus, the top 2 contributing classes get a pizza party! Bring your non-perishable items before April 25th.

Power Patrol on Duty

A Green Team volunteer is circulating around Tahoma High School, checking to see if staff is powered down. You can make a difference in our energy usage this break by making sure that lights are turned off, electronics are unplugged, and blinds are closed. Please also check to make sure that there are no maintenance issues in your classroom! Have a great break, and stay green!
