Spring Break Shut-Down

04/07/17 Otsego Elementary

Reminder... According to Energy Star®, 30% of energy waste occurs when schools and other district buildings are unoccupied. Please help OES reduce energy waste and associated costs by following these simple strategies before you leave for Spring Break: ü Close all blinds and window coverings. Doing this helps to retain the heat in the classrooms and makes it easier to reach optimal temperatures when school resumes. ü Turn off desktop computers and monitors in classrooms, media centers, computer labs and office space. Sleep modes continue to use electricity if the device is not turned off completely. ü Unplug all electronic devices, including the list below, to avoid unnecessary electrical use. Many devices use electricity even when turned off. · Chargers · Smartboards · Lamps · Printers and other office equipment · Laptop computers (DO NOT UNPLUG DESKTOP COMPUTERS) · Microwaves and coffee pots ü Close classroom doors before leaving. Thank you for your help in saving energy to support education!! ???
